Research

Evidence, done properly, for the decision in front of you.

Two kinds of research happen here. Reviews written for one member with one decision to make, and studies we run with academic partners. The first is a service. The second is the reason the first is any good.

For members

Someone who is accountable for being wrong.

Most of our members can already ask a model to summarise the evidence on a drug, a supplement or a protocol, and most of them have. What comes back is fluent and has nobody behind it.

A rapid evidence review is the same question answered by people who put their names to it, who will tell you the evidence is thin when it is thin, and who have to live with the recommendation afterwards. It is written for your situation rather than for the general case, and it says what it does not know.

Where a question is larger than a review, we build a structured programme around it: what to measure, over what period, and what would count as an answer. Rapid evidence reviews are included in Comprehensive membership. Structured programmes are arranged at cost and quoted before any work begins.

Current work

Two pieces of work, stated as what they are.

Precision nutrition and cognitive health

Feasibility pilot, presented at NUTRITION 2026

A pilot in precision nutrition for cognitive health, run with the NNEdPro Global Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health and co-funded by Curia Health and WellFounded Health. It was presented at NUTRITION 2026.

A feasibility pilot asks whether a study can be run at all: whether people will take part, whether the measurements hold, whether the design survives contact with real lives. It does not ask whether the intervention works, and we are not claiming that it does.

Neurodegeneration prevention

In development

A prevention programme for neurodegenerative disease, in development with Professor Sumantra Ray and designed by Dr Robin Brown.

In development means designed and not yet running. There is nothing to report from it and there will not be for some time. We would rather say that than write around it.

Collaboration

If you are running something we could be useful to.

We are a small practice. Our members are assessed in more detail than most people ever are, and many of them are willing to take part in work that might be useful to someone else. That makes us a practical partner for translational research: feasibility work, protocol development, and questions that need people rather than cells.

Nothing involving a member happens without their consent and the appropriate approvals, and we will say no to a study we do not think is worth their time.

If you are running something where any of that helps, write to us and say what you need.
